K-Lite Codec Pack là tập hợp các bộ mã hóa/giải mã và các công cụ liên quan. Các bộ mã hóa/giải mã cần thiết cho việc mã hóa và/hay giải mã (chơi) các định dạng phim.

K-Lite Codec Pack được thiết kế để trở thành một giải pháp thân thiện cho việc xem mọi định dạng phim. Với K-Lite Codec Pack bạn sẽ có thể chơi 99% các định dạng phim tải về từ internet.

K-Lite Codec Pack bao gồm 05 phiên bản:

K-Lite Codec Pack Basic chỉ bao gồm các công cụ cần thiết nhất. Bộ công cụ chứa mọi thứ bạn cần để xem mọi định dạng thông dụng. Bộ công cụ dung lượng nhỏ vừa đủ để vừa trên một đĩa mềm. Cũng như rất phù hợp để tích hợp vào đĩa phim CD.
K-Lite Codec Pack Standard bao gồm mọi thứ bạn cần để xem mọi định dạng thông dụng nhất. Gói công cụ đủ dùng cho người dùng thông thường
K-Lite Codec Pack Corporate phù hợp cho từng môi trường riêng biệt
K-Lite Codec Pack Full bao gồm nhiều bộ mã hóa/giải mã hơn nữa. Bộ này cũng hỗ trợ mã hóa nhiều định dạng đa dạng. Phù hợp cho người dùng kinh nghiệm hay những người muốn thực hiện những tác vụ mã hóa riêng.
K-Lite Mega Codec Pack bao gồm đầy đủ nhất mọi công cụ để bạn có thể xem được tất cả mọi định dạng.

K-Lite Codec Pack hiện có thể cài đặt trên các HĐH sau: 2003/2008/XP/Vista/Windows 7

There are five variants of the K-Lite Codec Pack:

The basic variant contains everything you need to play all the common video file formats. Such as AVI, MKV, MP4, OGM, and FLV. This pack is for those who like a small no-nonsense pack.

The standard variant contains some additional features compared to the basic variant. It contains Media Player Classic, which is an excellent player for video files. It also has (better) support for playback of DVDs. This pack is recommended for the average user.

The full variant has many additional features. It supports playback of several (lossless) audio formats. It contains VFW/ACM codecs that can be used for encoding. It has playback support for a few legacy audio and video formats. This package is suitable for power users.

The corporate variant is a special version for use in a corporate environment. It is similar to the full variant, minus a few items, but almost just as powerful. It has a strong focus on open source software.

The mega variant has almost the same contents as the full variant, but additionally contains Real Alternative and some extra VFW/ACM codecs.
